ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) — A three-man team of referees worked the game between the Houston Astros and Texas Rangers on Wednesday after referee David Rackley was ruled out due to health and safety protocols.
“In accordance with protocols, the rest of the team has taken the appropriate steps and play will be conducted under a three-umpire system,” Major League Baseball said in a statement, without giving further details.
