Summary

The MIL Company search a Cybersecurity, Senior Associate to provide assistance in accomplishing feature deployment, security policy enforcement, multi-factor authentication, access control enforcement, activity monitoring, configuration tuning, and administration of the system in support of Commander Naval Installations Command located on Naval Station Norfolk in Norfolk, VA.

Responsibilities

  • Work with all relevant Security Operations Center (SOC) customer groups including systems administration team, network teams, security teams, infrastructure team, help desk to companies, program managers and business unit sponsors
  • Provide customer support for end users and helpdesk
  • Maintain and update customer systems infrastructure configurations as required including network segments, switch integrations, wireless integrations, VM integrations, VPNs, etc.
  • Track all internal cases and adhere to the change management process as specified by the client
  • Define and create, as required, operational and cybersecurity policies in accordance with US Navy RMF, NIST, and other Department of Defense regulations and guidelines
  • Participate in project meetings and conference calls
  • Provide monthly status reports that summarize outstanding issues and obstacles, completed tasks, and planned future actions
  • Train client staff in cybersecurity practices
  • Provide recommendations for tool configuration and user training needs
  • Know and conduct ongoing monitoring actions in accordance with NIST 800-137, including recommending updates and reconfigurations to meet customer needs
  • Supports automated reporting capabilities
  • Define standard operations, incident response and backup procedures
  • Thoroughly investigate with DoD and US Navy cybersecurity standards for acceptance of new products on a military network
  • Provide outputs needed to support the RMF, such as recommending changes in technical mitigation documents
  • Possess technical experience to recommend mitigation and/or remediation of vulnerabilities or misconfigurations found while reviewing various client eMASS packages
  • Document findings and severity levels of non-compliance in formalized professional reports, written and oral briefs, etc. in a format acceptable to the customer

Qualifications required

  • 10 years of relevant experience
  • Experience with US Navy Risk Management Framework (RMF) processes and procedures
  • 2 to 5 years of experience with eMASS
  • Security+ Certification
  • Ability to be proactive with tasks
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision
  • Analytical ability to uncover cybersecurity issues in test results
  • According to federal guidelines, you may need to show proof of vaccination against COVID-19 or your willingness to get vaccinated.

Desired diplomas

Education

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field from an accredited college. Six (6) years of job-related work experience or an associate’s degree plus four (4) years of additional job-related work experience may replace a bachelor’s degree.
