Mobile operator EE suffers sporadic UK network outage

Wednesday, June 22, 2022 (4:56 p.m.) – Score 408

Mobile operator EE (BT) was hit by a sporadic network outage this afternoon, which began around 1pm and appears to be mainly affecting mobile broadband connectivity via 4G and 5G services (3G is still working.. .sometimes), in different parts of the UK.

In a brief statement, which was posted on both their website and social media, EE said: “Some customers are having problems trying to use network services this afternoon. We are aware of this and are working to resolve it as soon as possible. We apologize for any inconvenience caused.”

Experiences seem to vary, with some customers reporting that the issue only affects their data connectivity, while others said they had no signal. The issue also seems to prevent Wi-Fi calling from working on a home broadband network, but others have managed to get it to work.
