NESN becomes first regional sports network to launch direct-to-consumer service

NESN is now the first regional sports network to launch a direct-to-consumer platform. The product, NESN 360, is a digital subscription service that allows consumers to watch NESN’s live and video-on-demand (VOD) programs. Subscribers can stream NESN’s live streams and VOD library directly to their computer, iOS, Android, Apple TV or Roku device. Additionally, according to NESN, current subscribers can authenticate into the NESN 360 app to access the same programming, including live Red Sox and Bruins games.

“We are creating a complete 360° experience for fans, combining a premium digital offering with the excitement of venues and teams,” said Ahmed Darwish, chief marketing officer of NESN, in a statement. “NESN 360 is already an unrivaled offering, and there is so much more to come.”

NESN will add more access to Red Sox content, including highlights and select historic Red Sox games on demand. There are also Bruins games and highlights, exclusive new content and a library of original NESN shows. Additionally, the VOD library will feature full games from the 2022 Red Sox season games, including games aired after they aired.

NESN also plans to introduce new features and functionality including 4K HDR, cloud DVR and FireTV and Google TV apps.
