About the project The Principal Investigators of a project funded by the United Arab Emirates University – Zayed University Joint Research Fellowship are looking for a Postdoctoral Researcher to assist them with the research tasks of the project. The project focuses on measuring the individual’s quality of life through the collection and analysis of data from smart objects used by individuals throughout their daily activities. The project aims to provide people with the feedback they need to improve their quality of life.
The postdoctoral researcher must have a doctorate. in computer science, computer engineering, data science or a related field. Masters graduates are encouraged to apply. However, the Ph.D. incumbents are preferred for this position. The candidate should have a strong background in machine learning, as they have to build and test machine learning models.
The following list details the duties expected of a successful candidate
- Work on setting up data collection, mainly from smartphones
- Help administer data collection from volunteers
- Pre-process collected data, explore and visualize data
- Work with the team to create machine learning models
- Apply privacy-preserving data mining techniques
