It’s an exciting time for the security industry, as there have been tremendous advancements in technology over the past few years. As the technology continues to evolve, industry consensus on the performance, security and design of security solutions will be crucial to its success in the marketplace,” Boriskin said. “The use of artificial intelligence (AI) is a great example of this progress, as it has become a megatrend within our industry. Manufacturers, integrators and end users need to think about how to properly integrate AI in services and solutions given the challenges of privacy, bias and limited knowledge. To start the conversation, SIA held its first AI Town Hall this fall and is looking to continue this dialogue with future offerings. We can also expand our thinking on sustainability and stewardship. Topics such as circular economy and energy efficiency should be discussed within the security industry.
