Seimitsu Presents Free Cybersecurity Workshop in Collaboration with City of Savannah Entrepreneurial Center and SCORE

(SAVANNAH, GA) Seimitsu will present a free virtual workshop on Thursday, October 6 to help small business owners learn about cybersecurity threats and protection. The one-hour ZOOM course will be led by the City of Savannah Entrepreneurial Center and SCORE and will take place from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m.

The session will be led by retired Lt. Col. Scott Scheidt, chief security officer of Seimitsu, a 38-year-old family-owned computing and broadband company in Savannah.

Retired Lt. Col. Scott Scheidt, Seimitsu Chief of Security

His presentation, titled “Protecting Your Business Through a Strong Cybersecurity Posture”, is designed to help business owners:
• discern whether their information is on the dark web.
• Understand the cost of a cyber breach.
• discover the different ways in which the organization can be at risk.
• Learn the steps to take to better protect their organizations for customers as well as internal and remote workforce members.

“Cyberattacks happen every 39 seconds and as a small business you need to protect yourself, your staff and your customers,” Scheidt said. “Business owners work tirelessly to build trust with their customers and employees and if there is a security breach of private information, there is nothing more valid than having to send an email. -mass mail to all your customers and employees to report that there has been a breach of security on your customer’s private information.

Scheidt says “cleaning up” a cyberattack can also be costly.

“This workshop will walk business owners through how to mitigate a potential threat and help them discover areas of vulnerability and exposure to potential threats,” he said.
